Make Your Own Natural Ear Infection Remedy At Home
Being able to save tons of money, time and hassle are all good reasons for finding an effective natural ear infection remedy. There is no doubt that it would take a lot of those three things (time, money, and hassle) if you'd go to the doctor each time somebody in your house got an earache. You have to make the appointment, wait to get in, the waiting room, get a prescription, pay for the prescription...and after all of that's done, it can still take a few days of pain before the medicine starts working.

Doing all of this isn't cheap, and if there is somebody that's highly susceptible to getting ear infections the money spent can really add up. The good news is that you don't have to deal with all of this nonsense when you can make Why waste all that energy on dealing with a doctor when you can use natural ingredients to make your own "medicine" right at home.

Chances are good that you have many, if not all, of the ingredients you need at home already. In fact, there are even food items that have antioxidant properties that work to treat ear infections. Some food items can be made for application to the infected ear. It is also believed that eating certain food can aid the body's natural ability to fight off infection.

Some of these items work through simple science. The bacteria that cause ear infections only survive in a pH level known as a base. Lemon juice, on the other hand, has an acidic pH. Putting just a few drops of lemon juice in the problematic ear should be enough to neutralize the base, which is bad for the bacteria, they should die off and the infection should be gone.

Another natural home remedy for earaches that works on the same principle as lemon juice of a mixture of water and vinegar. Combine equal parts water with equal parts vinegar and you're ready to go. Apply just a few drops at a time; gently rinsing when done. This remedy can be applied several times if the first application doesn't work.

How about onions, garlic and olive oil? No, that's not the start of a recipe for dinner. Simmer the three ingredients with a bit of water. Cook well and strain to make an extract. Use an eyedropper to apply a few drops of the extract in the affected ear. The oil will work to loosen what's there, and the onion and garlic will help to take care of the infection.

Foods that are high in antioxidants should be consumed as well. Anything to help your body do its job better. Foods with Vitamin C or drinking green tea are good choices.

If you don't like the idea of putting anything in your ears, you can use a warm compress held to the ear to help stimulate the draining of the ear. Just be sure to lie down with your bad ear facing down so it drains in the right direction.

Each of the above methods work differently for each person. If one doesn't work, try another. Also, be sure to at least see your doctor once if at all possible. Just in case it's something more serious.
